Your thoughts are triggered by how you perceive or interpret something in your environment. Each thought is shaped by all past thoughts and memories, so they are the lifetime products of how you think about yourself and the world around you.
Feelings don't happen in isolation. Your thoughts trigger your feelings, which are a combination of emotions and sensations.
For example, if you have a judgmental thought, this creates an emotion like guilt, sadness, anger, or something else that is limiting and unpleasant. You might also experience tension somewhere in your body.
Actions are the end product of a combination of your thoughts and feelings. Once you think and feel something, the next step is to do something.
Most of what you do is a series of actions based on the habitual patterns of your mind and emotions. And, your actions have consequences, whether they are mundane (like drinking a morning cup of coffee and crashing midday) or if they feel more significant to your life (like going for a job interview).
CHANGING YOUR LIFE MEANS BREAKING THE HABIT OF THINKING, FEELING AND DOING ON AUTOPILOT.
And breaking any habit takes consistent awareness, self-compassion, commitment and determination.
You are hardwired to perform even the most basic of habits. And, the longer you've been doing them - like judging yourself, feeling unworthy or not good enough - the more practice may be involved in developing change.
The good news is that most everything you think, feel and do is a habit you created. This means that you're already an expert in creating habits.
